Como OSHC
Como Out of School Hours Care Service proudly provides education and care for children from Kindergarten to Year 6 attending Como Public School. We operate five days a week during school terms (excluding public holidays), offering care from 7:00am to 9:00am and 3:00pm to 6:00pm, for a total of 40 weeks per year.
Our service is located within the grounds of Como Public School, operating from the school’s Music Room. Children enjoy access to the full outdoor area, which supports a wide range of activities including sport, creative play, and relaxation. Whether it’s soccer, tennis, obstacle courses, or quiet time under a tree with a book, our outdoor program encourages children to move, engage, and unwind in ways that suit them.
Indoors, children have the opportunity to participate in thoughtfully planned experiences such as arts and crafts, pretend play, construction, games, and more. Our qualified educators implement the “My Time, Our Place” Framework, empowering children to make choices in how they spend their time, whether it’s being active, socialising with friends, or enjoying quiet moments.
We support children of all abilities and take pride in fostering an inclusive environment where every child feels valued. A nutritious afternoon tea is provided daily, and for families who would like their child to complete homework during the session, a dedicated educator is available to provide encouragement and support.
We understand that children's comfort and wellbeing go far beyond meeting their basic needs. That is why we draw on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs to guide our practice—beginning with ensuring safety and security, and ultimately nurturing each child's self-esteem and potential to thrive.
We are excited to be a part of the Como Public School community and look forward to welcoming you and your child into our care.
